Francisco López de Gómara

Francisco López de Gómara, born on February second, fifteen eleven, was a prominent Spanish chronicler and historian based in Seville. He is particularly recognized for his detailed accounts of the early sixteenth-century expedition led by Hernán Cortés during the Spanish conquest of the New World. Although Gómara did not accompany Cortés on this monumental journey and had never set foot in the Americas, he gained invaluable insights through direct interactions with Cortés and other returning conquistadores.
