Franco Colapinto

Franco Colapinto, born on May twenty-seventh, two thousand three, is an emerging Argentine racing driver currently competing in Formula One for Alpine. Hailing from Pilar, Buenos Aires, he began his journey in motorsport at the tender age of nine, quickly making a name for himself in competitive kart racing by clinching several regional and national titles.

In two thousand eighteen, Colapinto transitioned to junior formulae, where he showcased his talent by winning the F4 Spanish Championship in two thousand nineteen with Drivex. His impressive performances continued in two thousand twenty, as he secured third place in both the Formula Renault Eurocup and the Toyota Racing Series. The following year, he ventured into sportscar racing, participating in the LMP2 class of the FIA World Endurance Championship, European Le Mans Series, and Asian Le Mans Series, achieving a commendable third place in the latter.

Colapinto's career progressed as he entered FIA Formula 3 in two thousand twenty-two, finishing fourth in the standings the subsequent season with MP Motorsport. His remarkable skills caught the attention of the Williams Driver Academy, which he joined in two thousand twenty-three. Making his Formula One debut at the Italian Grand Prix in two thousand twenty-four, he became the first Argentine driver to compete in the sport since Gastón Mazzacane in two thousand one.

During his debut season, Colapinto made headlines by scoring his maiden points at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix and repeating this success in the United States. In two thousand twenty-five, he joined Alpine as a reserve driver and was promoted after six Grands Prix to replace Jack Doohan. Colapinto's best result that season was an eleventh-place finish at the Dutch Grand Prix, and he is contracted to remain with Alpine until at least the end of the two thousand twenty-six season.
