Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of François Bozizé

François Bozizé, born on October fourteenth, nineteen forty-six, is a prominent Central African politician and former warlord who served as the President of the Central African Republic from two thousand three to two thousand thirteen. Uniquely, he is the only Central African president born in what is now modern-day Gabon.

Bozizé's military career began in the 1970s, where he rose to the rank of high-ranking army officer under the regime of Jean-Bédel Bokassa. Following Bokassa's ousting, he held significant government positions, including Minister of Defense from nineteen seventy-nine to nineteen eighty-one and Minister of Information from nineteen eighty-one to nineteen eighty-two. His political journey took a tumultuous turn when he participated in a failed coup attempt against President André Kolingba in nineteen eighty-two, which forced him to flee the country.

Years later, he returned to serve as Army Chief of Staff under President Ange-Félix Patassé. However, in two thousand one, Bozizé initiated a rebellion against Patassé, leading to a dramatic shift in power dynamics. In March two thousand three, his forces seized the capital, Bangui, while Patassé was abroad, allowing Bozizé to establish a transitional government.

In the subsequent years, he solidified his political standing by winning the presidential elections in March to May two thousand five and again in January two thousand eleven, where he achieved victory in the first round. However, his presidency faced significant challenges, culminating in a rebellion in December two thousand twelve, which accused his government of failing to uphold peace agreements from the Central African Republic Bush War in two thousand seven. On March twenty-fourth, two thousand thirteen, amid escalating violence, Bozizé fled to Cameroon via the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where he was granted refuge by President Paul Biya. An international arrest warrant was issued against him on May twenty-ninth, two thousand thirteen.
