Frank Dochnal

Frank Dochnal, born on October eighth, nineteen twenty, in St. Louis, Missouri, was a passionate race car driver and engineer. His journey into the world of racing began in his hometown, where he found success in local competitions, showcasing his talent and determination.

At the age of forty-three, Frank made a bold attempt to qualify for the prestigious Formula One Grand Prix. He entered the 1963 Mexican Grand Prix with a Cooper T51, a significant milestone in his racing career. Unfortunately, his aspirations were cut short when he crashed during unofficial practice, preventing him from competing.

Following this setback, Frank decided to retire from race driving. However, his love for motorsports did not wane. He transitioned into a role as a race mechanic, where he continued to contribute to the racing community. His career also included working for the renowned Howard Hughes and serving as a technical official for the United States Auto Club (USAC), further solidifying his legacy in the world of racing.
