František Plánička

František Plánička, born on June second, nineteen oh four, was a legendary Czech football goalkeeper whose career left an indelible mark on Czechoslovak football history. He dedicated his entire professional journey to Slavia Prague, where he played a pivotal role in securing eight Czech league titles and one Mitropa Cup. His exceptional skills and leadership qualities earned him a place on the Czechoslovakia national team, where he first showcased his talent by helping the team become runner-up in the Central European International Cup during the nineteen thirty-one to thirty-two season.

Plánička's remarkable journey continued as he captained the national team during the World Cup finals in nineteen thirty-four and nineteen thirty-eight, leading them to a second-place finish in both tournaments. His courage was exemplified during the nineteen thirty-eight World Cup match against Brazil, where he bravely remained on the field despite suffering a serious injury. This injury ultimately marked the end of a stellar career in which he played a total of one thousand two hundred fifty-three matches, conceding only one thousand seventy-three goals, averaging an impressive zero point eighty-six goals per game.

Renowned for his outstanding reflexes and shot-stopping abilities, Plánička was also celebrated for his sportsmanship, never receiving a caution or being sent off throughout his two-decade career.
