Franz-Joseph Müller von Reichenstein, born on October fourth, seventeen forty-two, was a distinguished Austrian naturalist and mining engineer. His career was marked by significant contributions to the fields of mineralogy and chemistry, particularly during his tenure in the Habsburg monarchy's administration of mines and coinage.

Throughout his professional journey, Müller held various positions across the regions of Banat, Transylvania, and Tyrol. It was during his time in Transylvania that he made a remarkable discovery in seventeen eighty-two, identifying the element tellurium, which would later play a crucial role in various scientific advancements.

In recognition of his expertise and contributions, Müller ascended to the ranks of the imperial council in Vienna. His dedication and service were honored in eighteen twenty, when he was knighted and elevated to the rank of Freiherr, a testament to his esteemed position within the scientific community and the Habsburg administration.
