Fred Haise

Fred Wallace Haise Jr. is a distinguished American figure born on November 14, 1933. With a remarkable career as a military officer, he served as a fighter pilot and military flight engineer in both the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Air Force. His expertise in aviation and engineering paved the way for his selection as a NASA astronaut.

Haise is notably recognized as one of the twenty-four individuals who have had the extraordinary experience of flying to the Moon. He served as the Lunar Module pilot on the ill-fated Apollo 13 mission, which was intended to make him the sixth person to walk on the lunar surface.
