Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Fred Lake

Fred Lake, born on October sixteenth, eighteen sixty-six, was a notable Canadian professional baseball catcher and manager who made his mark in the early twentieth century. Hailing from Cornwallis Township in Kings County, Nova Scotia, Lake's journey in professional baseball began with the Boston Beaneaters in eighteen ninety-one. Over the course of five seasons, he had a fluctuating presence in the Major Leagues, accumulating a total of one hundred twenty-five at-bats.

In nineteen oh-eight, Lake took on the role of manager for the Boston Red Sox. His leadership led the team to a commendable third-place finish, yet he was replaced after the nineteen oh-nine season. Shortly thereafter, he was appointed manager of the Boston Doves. Unfortunately, his tenure there was less successful, culminating in a record of fifty-three wins and one hundred losses, placing him fifty and a half games behind the pennant-winning Chicago Cubs.

Throughout his career, Lake's influence extended beyond the Major Leagues, as he played or managed in the minor leagues for a total of eleven seasons from eighteen ninety-six to nineteen twenty-six. A long-time resident of Boston, Fred Lake passed away at the age of sixty-five, leaving behind a legacy in the world of baseball.
