Freddie Pitcher

Freddie Pitcher, born on February fifth, nineteen sixty-seven, is a notable Nauruan politician and diplomat. He made his mark in Nauru's political landscape when he was appointed Minister of Finance in December two thousand seven, serving under President Marcus Stephen's administration.

On November tenth, two thousand eleven, Pitcher ascended to the presidency of Nauru, taking over from Marcus Stephen following the latter's resignation. However, his tenure was brief; he faced a parliamentary vote of confidence and was ousted from the presidency just six days later, on November fifteenth, two thousand eleven.

In a significant turn in his career, Pitcher became the permanent representative of Nauru at the United Nations Office in Geneva in January two thousand twenty-five. His diplomatic journey continued as he was appointed ambassador from Nauru to Switzerland in May two thousand twenty-five, marking a new chapter in his service to his country.
