Frederuna

Frederuna, born in the year eight hundred eighty-seven in Goslar, Hanover, was a prominent figure in medieval Europe as the queen consort of France. She was united in marriage to King Charles III of France in nine hundred seven, solidifying her status in the royal lineage of the time.

Her lineage was notable; she was the daughter of Dietrich Theodorich von Ringelheim, Duke of Saxony, and Gisela of Lotharingia. Frederuna was also the half-sister of Matilda of Ringelheim, who became the wife of Henry the Fowler, King of East Francia. Additionally, she had siblings including Amalrada, Bia, and Beuve II, who served as the Bishop of Châlons-sur-Marne.

During her marriage, Frederuna bore six daughters: Ermentrude, Gisela, Frederuna herself, Adelais, Rotrude, and Hildegarde. Her contributions to the royal family were significant, as she played a vital role in the lineage of French nobility.

Frederuna's life came to an end in nine hundred seventeen, after which she was succeeded as queen consort by Eadgifu of England, the daughter of Edward the Elder, in nine hundred nineteen. Her legacy continues to be remembered in the annals of history.
