Friedrich Olbricht

Friedrich Olbricht, born on October fourth, eighteen eighty-eight, was a prominent German general during World War II, known for his pivotal role in the resistance against Adolf Hitler. As a senior staff officer with the rank of infantry general, Olbricht was deeply involved in the clandestine efforts to overthrow the Nazi regime.

His commitment to the resistance was evident as he maintained secret communications with key leaders of the movement. Olbricht was instrumental in coordinating various plots against Hitler, strategically placing sympathetic officers in critical positions within the military hierarchy. His office became a hub for resistance activities, particularly under the leadership of Claus von Stauffenberg.

By late nineteen forty-three, Olbricht's influence had grown significantly, as he quietly encouraged field commanders to support the resistance efforts. The culmination of these efforts was the infamous 20 July Plot in nineteen forty-four, which aimed to assassinate Hitler. Had this plot succeeded, Olbricht was poised to take on the role of minister of war in a new government that would emerge in the aftermath of the Nazi regime.
