Gabriel Obertan

Gabriel Obertan, born on February 26, 1989, is a retired French professional footballer who has transitioned into coaching, currently serving as an assistant coach for the USL League One side Charlotte Independence.

Obertan's football journey began at the prestigious Clairefontaine academy, which has produced numerous talented players. He made his professional debut with Bordeaux in France, showcasing his skills and potential on the field.

In July 2009, Obertan took a significant step in his career by joining Manchester United for an undisclosed fee. His time at the club was marked by valuable experiences and development. In August 2011, he moved to Newcastle United, again for an undisclosed fee, where he continued to hone his craft until his release in May 2016.

Throughout his career, Obertan represented France at various youth levels, including under-16, under-17, under-18, under-19, and under-21, contributing to the national team's future talent pool.
