Gabriele Tarquini

Gabriele Tarquini, born on March second, nineteen sixty-two, is a distinguished Italian former racing driver and motorsport executive. His career in Formula One spanned from nineteen eighty-seven to nineteen ninety-five, during which he participated in seventy-eight Grands Prix, making his debut at the San Marino Grand Prix. Competing for teams such as Osella, Coloni, and Tyrrell, he notably scored a single championship point at the nineteen eighty-nine Mexican Grand Prix and holds the record for the most failed attempts to qualify, totaling forty.

After his time in Formula One, Tarquini transitioned to touring car racing, where he achieved remarkable success. He clinched the British Touring Car Championship in nineteen ninety-four with Alfa Romeo and the European Touring Car Championship in two thousand three with Nordauto. His crowning achievement came in two thousand nine when he won the World Touring Car Championship with SEAT, becoming the oldest FIA World Champion at the age of forty-seven years and two hundred sixty-six days.
