Gackt

Gackt, born Gakuto Oshiro on July 4, 1973, in Okinawa, Japan, is a multifaceted artist renowned for his contributions as a singer-songwriter, musician, and actor. Raised in a Ryukyuan family, he developed a passion for music early on, learning the piano and immersing himself in classical and enka genres before discovering rock music during his high school years.

His career began in 1993 as the frontman of the independent band Cains:Feel, but it was his role in the visual kei rock band Malice Mizer from 1995 that propelled him into the spotlight. Gackt launched his solo career in 1999 with the mini-album Mizérable, followed by his first full-length album, Mars, in 2000. Over the years, he has released nine studio albums and holds the record for the most top ten consecutive singles in Japanese music history, with forty-eight singles to his name.
