Gary Doer

Gary Doer, born on March thirty-first, nineteen forty-eight, is a distinguished Canadian politician and diplomat hailing from Winnipeg, Manitoba. He made significant contributions to Canadian politics as the twentieth premier of Manitoba, a role he held from nineteen ninety-nine to two thousand nine, leading a government under the New Democratic Party.

Following his tenure as premier, Doer transitioned to international diplomacy, serving as Canada's ambassador to the United States from October nineteenth, two thousand nine, until March third, two thousand sixteen. His diplomatic efforts were pivotal during a time of complex relations between Canada and the U.S.

After concluding his ambassadorship, Doer took on a new challenge as a senior business advisor with the global law firm Dentons. His expertise was further sought by the government of Alberta, where he was retained to lobby the Trump administration regarding the ongoing softwood lumber dispute.
