Gary Hocking

Gary Stuart Hocking MBE, born on 30 September 1937, was a remarkable figure in the world of motorsport, known for his exceptional skills as a motorcycle racer and automobile driver. Hailing from Rhodesia, Hocking made a significant impact in the racing community during the late 1950s and early 1960s.

His career in the FIM Grand Prix motorcycle racing world championships spanned from 1958 to 1962, during which he showcased his talent and determination. Hocking was most notably associated with the prestigious MV Agusta factory racing team, where he achieved remarkable success.

In 1961, Hocking clinched the world championships in both the 350cc and 500cc categories, solidifying his status as one of the top competitors of his time. His prowess on the track earned him respect and admiration from fans and fellow racers alike.

Tragically, Hocking's life was cut short when he passed away on 21 December 1962. Despite his brief career, his legacy in the world of motorcycle racing continues to inspire future generations of racers.
