His contributions to the music world are profound, particularly through his role as Composer Advisor to the Toronto Symphony Orchestra since 1995. Kulesha's expertise has also been recognized during his tenure as Composer-in-Residence with the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony from nineteen eighty-eight to nineteen ninety-two and with the Canadian Opera Company from nineteen ninety-three to nineteen ninety-five.

In two thousand two, he was honored with the National Arts Centre Orchestra Composer Award, a testament to his significant impact on the Canadian music scene. Beyond his compositions, Kulesha is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of musicians.
