Gautami Tadimalla, born on July second, nineteen sixty-eight, is a multifaceted Indian actress and costume designer, renowned for her impactful contributions to Tamil and Telugu cinema, as well as her work in Malayalam, Hindi, and Kannada films. She is celebrated for her elegant presence and powerful performances, particularly during the late eighties and nineties, establishing herself as one of the most successful actresses in South India.

Her cinematic journey began with a credited role in her cousin Vijaya Chandar's Telugu film, Dayamayudu, in nineteen eighty-seven, followed by her first leading role in Gandhinagar Rendava Veedhi the same year. Gautami made her mark in Kannada cinema with Elu Suttina Kote and soon ventured into Tamil films, debuting in the highly successful Guru Sishyan in nineteen eighty-eight. This was just the beginning of a series of box-office hits, including Enga Ooru Kavalkaran, Enga Ooru Mappillai, and Apoorva Sagodharargal.

In nineteen ninety, Gautami received the Tamil Nadu State Film Award Special Prize for her outstanding performance in Namma Ooru Poovatha and made her entry into Malayalam cinema with His Highness Abdullah.
