Geeta Bali, born in 1930, was a celebrated Indian actress known for her remarkable contributions to Hindi cinema. With a career that spanned over two decades, she graced the silver screen in more than seventy-five films, earning her a place among the finest actresses in the history of Indian film.

Beginning her journey in the film industry as a child artist in The Cobbler in 1942, Bali achieved her first major success with the film Sohag Raat in 1948. She quickly established herself as a leading lady of the 1950s, captivating audiences with her performances in notable films such as Bawre Nain, Albela, Baazi, Jaal, Anand Math, Vachan, Milap, Faraar, Jailor, and Mr. India.

Her talent did not go unnoticed, as she received nominations for the prestigious Filmfare Awards, including a nod for Best Actress for her role in Vachan. In 1955, she married fellow actor Shammi Kapoor, and together they had two children, one of whom is actor Aditya Raj Kapoor.

Tragically, Geeta Bali's life was cut short when she passed away in 1965 due to smallpox, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire future generations of actors.
