Geneviève Robic-Brunet, known affectionately as Genny, is a retired road racing cyclist hailing from Canada. Born on April thirteenth, nineteen fifty-nine, she made her mark in the cycling world during the eighties, becoming a formidable competitor on both national and international stages.
Genny's impressive career includes being crowned National Road Champion twice, in nineteen eighty-four and nineteen eighty-seven, as well as securing the title of National Criterium Champion in those same years. Her dedication and talent earned her the opportunity to represent Canada at two consecutive Summer Olympics, beginning with the Los Angeles Games in nineteen eighty-four.
During her Olympic journey, Genny trained rigorously in New Mexico and Colorado, ultimately finishing in twenty-second place at the Los Angeles Olympics and achieving a remarkable fourth place at the Seoul Olympics in nineteen eighty-eight in the Women's Individual Road Race.
Unfortunately, her cycling career was cut short due to a training accident that hindered her recovery. Despite her early retirement, Genny's legacy in the sport remains significant, inspiring future generations of cyclists.
