Geoff Capes

Geoff Capes, born on August 23, 1949, is a distinguished British athlete known for his remarkable achievements in shot put, strongman competitions, and Highland Games. With a career that spans decades, he has represented both England and Great Britain in field athletics, excelling particularly in the shot put event. Capes is a two-time Commonwealth champion and a two-time European indoor champion, having competed in three Olympic Games. He holds the British record for the shot put, a remarkable distance of twenty-one point sixty-eight metres, which has stood since nineteen eighty.

In addition to his prowess in athletics, Capes has made a significant mark in the world of strongman competitions. He is a two-time winner of the World's Strongest Man title and has also claimed victory at the World Muscle Power Classic on two occasions.
