His athletic prowess was evident early on, as he clinched the title of World Junior Cross Country champion at the age of eighteen in two thousand eleven. Kamworor's career has been marked by remarkable achievements, including a silver medal in the 10,000 metres at the 2015 World Championships in Athletics.

From two thousand fourteen to two thousand eighteen, Kamworor dominated the World Half Marathon Championships, securing victories three consecutive times. His versatility as an athlete is further highlighted by his individual titles at the World Cross Country Championships in both 2015 and 2017, along with a commendable third-place finish in 2019.

In the marathon arena, Kamworor made his mark by winning his first World Marathon Major at the 2017 New York City Marathon, a title he successfully defended in 2019 after finishing second in 2015.
