Georg Niedermeier, born on 26 February 1986, is a former professional footballer from Germany, renowned for his defensive prowess on the field. Known by the nickname 'Niederstrecker', he emerged from the prestigious Bayern Munich youth academy, where he honed his skills before embarking on a senior career that would see him make significant contributions to several clubs.

His professional journey began with Bayern Munich's reserve team, but it was in 2009 that he made a pivotal move to VfB Stuttgart, initially joining on loan. By February 2010, he had signed a permanent contract with the club for a reported fee of three and a half million euros. Over the course of eight seasons in the Bundesliga, Niedermeier became a key player for Stuttgart, amassing over 180 appearances and earning a place in the club's leadership group.
