Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of George Foreman

George Foreman, born on January 10, 1949, is a celebrated American professional boxer, businessman, minister, and author. Known affectionately as 'Big George', he made his mark in the boxing world from 1967 to 1997, earning the title of two-time world heavyweight champion and an Olympic gold medalist. His journey began with a troubled childhood, which he overcame by taking up amateur boxing, ultimately winning a gold medal in the heavyweight division at the 1968 Summer Olympics.

Foreman's professional career took off in 1969, and he quickly rose to fame by claiming the undisputed world heavyweight title in 1973 with a stunning second-round knockout of the undefeated Joe Frazier. He successfully defended his title twice before facing Muhammad Ali in the legendary 'Rumble in the Jungle' in 1974, where he suffered his first professional defeat. After a loss to Jimmy Young in 1977, Foreman stepped away from the ring.

Following a transformative born-again experience, Foreman became an ordained Christian minister. In 1987, he made a remarkable comeback to boxing, and in 1994, at the age of 45, he achieved the extraordinary feat of winning the unified WBA, IBF, and lineal heavyweight championship titles by knocking out the younger Michael Moorer. This victory earned him the title of Associated Press Athlete of the Year, and he became the oldest world heavyweight champion in history at 46 years and 169 days old.

Foreman's legacy extends beyond the boxing ring; he is also a successful entrepreneur, best known for promoting the George Foreman Grill, which sold over one hundred million units worldwide by 2011. In 1999, he sold the commercial rights to the grill for one hundred thirty-eight million dollars. His contributions to boxing have been recognized with his induction into both the World Boxing Hall of Fame and the International Boxing Hall of Fame, and he is celebrated as one of the greatest heavyweights of all time.
