George R. Price, born on October 6, 1922, was a remarkable American population geneticist whose contributions to theoretical biology have left a lasting impact. Initially trained as a physical chemist, Price transitioned into science journalism before making significant strides in the field of evolutionary biology. His move to London in 1967 marked a pivotal moment in his career, where he joined the Galton Laboratory and began to explore the intricacies of kin selection and group dynamics.

One of Price's most notable achievements was the formulation of the Price equation in 1967, which provided a new perspective on W.D.
