Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of George Santos

George Santos, born on July twenty-second, nineteen eighty-eight, is an American former politician who made headlines for his brief yet controversial tenure as the U.S. representative for New York's third congressional district. Serving from January to December twenty twenty-three, Santos became the first openly LGBTQ Republican elected to Congress as a freshman, after defeating Democrat Robert Zimmerman in the twenty twenty-two elections.

However, Santos's time in office was marred by allegations of fabricating significant portions of his biography. Reports surfaced shortly after his election, revealing inconsistencies in his education, employment history, and financial disclosures. He failed to disclose his criminal history and ongoing lawsuits, which led to intense media scrutiny and calls for his resignation from both political parties.

In December twenty twenty-three, following an investigation by the House Ethics Committee and a federal indictment, Santos was expelled from Congress by a vote of three hundred eleven to one hundred fourteen. This marked a historic moment, as he became the first member of Congress expelled without a prior conviction or ties to the Confederacy, and the sixth member overall.

In August twenty twenty-four, Santos pleaded guilty to identity theft and wire fraud, resulting in a sentence of eighty-seven months in prison, which he began serving in July twenty twenty-five. However, in October twenty twenty-five, President Donald Trump commuted his sentence, allowing Santos to be eligible for immediate release.
