Gervinho

Gervais Yao Kouassi, widely known as Gervinho, is a former professional footballer from Ivory Coast, born on May 27, 1987. Renowned for his skills as a forward, Gervinho's football journey began at ASEC Abidjan and Toumodi, where he honed his talents before making a significant move to Belgium in 2004 to join Beveren.

His career took a notable turn between 2007 and 2011 when he played in the French Ligue 1, first with Le Mans and later with Lille. During his final season in France, Gervinho played a pivotal role in leading Lille to victory in both the league and the Coupe de France, showcasing his ability to perform on the big stage.

In 2011, Gervinho made headlines when he transferred to Arsenal for a fee of ten point eight million pounds. His journey continued in 2013 when he signed with Roma for eight million euros. After a successful stint in Italy, he moved to Hebei China Fortune in January 2016, and later joined Parma in August 2018, further solidifying his international career.

On the international front, Gervinho proudly represented the Ivory Coast, earning over eighty caps from his debut in 2007 until 2021, during which he scored twenty-three goals. His contributions were instrumental in five Africa Cup of Nations tournaments and two World Cups, marking him as a significant figure in Ivorian football history.
