Gheorghe Popescu

Gheorghe Popescu, born on October ninth, nineteen sixty-seven, is a distinguished Romanian former professional football player renowned for his defensive prowess. Currently, he serves as the owner and president of Liga I club Farul Constanța. Throughout his illustrious career, Popescu showcased his skills across various European leagues, including a notable tenure in La Liga as the captain of FC Barcelona.

His journey in football saw him don the jerseys of several prestigious clubs, including a four-year spell at PSV Eindhoven and a triumphant period with Galatasaray, where he clinched the UEFA Cup. Additionally, he made his mark in the Premier League with Tottenham Hotspur, Serie A with Lecce, and the Bundesliga with Hannover ninety-six.
