Gianni Motta

Gianni Motta, born on March thirteenth, nineteen forty-three, in Cassano d'Adda, Lombardy, is a celebrated figure in the world of professional cycling. He is best known for his remarkable victory in the 1966 Giro d'Italia, a prestigious race that solidified his status as one of Italy's top cyclists.

Throughout his career, Motta achieved several significant victories, including the Giro di Lombardia in nineteen sixty-four, the Tour de Suisse in nineteen sixty-seven, and two editions of the Tour de Romandie in nineteen sixty-six and nineteen seventy-one. His prowess on the bike made him a formidable competitor during his racing years.

After retiring from competitive cycling, Motta transitioned into the manufacturing and sales of bicycles. In nineteen eighty-four, he took a bold step to promote his bike brand in the United States by sponsoring the Gianni Motta–Linea M.D. Italia team, which notably became the first American-registered team to compete in the Giro d'Italia.
