Giba's legacy is deeply intertwined with the Brazilian National Team, where he achieved remarkable success. His accolades include eight South American Championships, three America's Cups, and an impressive eight World League titles. He also triumphed in three World Grand Champions Cups and secured three World Championships in the years two thousand two, two thousand six, and two thousand ten. Notably, Giba captained the team to a gold medal at the two thousand four Summer Olympics and earned silver medals at the two thousand eight and two thousand twelve Olympics.
