Gilbert Clements

Gilbert Clements, born on September eleventh, nineteen twenty-eight, in Victoria Cross, Prince Edward Island, was a prominent Canadian politician and businessperson. His political career began in nineteen seventy when he was first elected to the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island, representing the district of 4th Kings. Over the years, he demonstrated remarkable resilience and dedication, securing re-election in nineteen seventy-four, nineteen seventy-nine, nineteen eighty-two, nineteen eighty-six, nineteen eighty-nine, and nineteen ninety-three.

Throughout his tenure, Clements held several significant positions, including Minister of Municipal Affairs, Environment & Tourism, and Parks & Conservation from nineteen seventy-four to nineteen seventy-eight. He also served as the Opposition Critic for Finance and Energy from nineteen seventy-nine to nineteen eighty-six, showcasing his expertise in financial matters. His leadership skills were further recognized when he became the Minister of Finance and Minister of Community and Cultural Affairs from nineteen eighty-six to nineteen eighty-nine, and later, the Minister of Finance and Minister of the Environment from nineteen eighty-nine to nineteen ninety-three.
