Ginni Rometty

Ginni Rometty, an influential American business executive, made history as the first woman to lead IBM, serving as chairman, president, and CEO. She stepped down from her role as CEO on April 1, 2020, and continued as executive chairman until her retirement on December 31, 2020, after nearly four decades with the company.

Rometty began her journey with IBM in 1981 as a systems engineer, gradually ascending through the ranks to oversee global sales, marketing, and strategy. Her pivotal role as general manager of IBM's global services division in 2002 included negotiating the acquisition of PricewaterhouseCoopers' IT consulting business, showcasing her expertise in corporate integration.
