Gino Quilico

Gino Quilico, an esteemed American-Canadian operatic baritone, was born on April twenty-ninth, nineteen fifty-five, in Flushing, New York City. He is the son of renowned baritone Louis Quilico and accomplished pianist Lina Pizzolongo. His musical journey began at the University of Toronto Opera School, where he honed his craft from nineteen seventy-six to nineteen seventy-eight, making his operatic debut as Mr. Gobineau in Giancarlo Menotti's The Medium.

Quilico's career took flight as he performed with the Canadian Opera Company in nineteen seventy-seven and nineteen seventy-nine. His pursuit of excellence led him to the Ecole d'art lyrique of the Paris Opera in nineteen seventy-nine and nineteen eighty, where he further refined his skills. This dedication paved the way for an international career, with performances at prestigious venues such as the Paris Opera, Covent Garden in London, La Scala in Milan, and the Bavarian State Opera in Munich.

In nineteen ninety-one, Quilico made a significant mark at the Metropolitan Opera by creating the role of Figaro in The Ghosts of Versailles, composed by John Corigliano.
