Gjekë Marinaj

Gjekë Marinaj, born on May twenty-six, nineteen sixty-five, is a distinguished Albanian-American poet, writer, translator, and literary critic. He has made significant contributions to the literary world, particularly through his innovative approach to arts criticism, which he coined as Protonism Theory. Currently residing in the United States, Marinaj has established himself as a prominent figure in both Albanian and American literary circles.

In two thousand one, he became the inaugural president of the Society of Albanian-American Writers, a testament to his leadership and commitment to fostering literary talent within the community. Over the years, Marinaj has published numerous works, including poetry, prose, and critical essays, showcasing his versatility and depth as a writer.

His literary achievements have not gone unnoticed; in two thousand eight, he was honored with the Pjetër Arbnori Prize for literature by the QNK, an entity under the Ministry of Tourism, Cultural Affairs, Youth and Sports of Albania. More recently, in two thousand twenty-one, he received the prestigious Changwon KC International Literary Prize from South Korea, further solidifying his international reputation.
