Godwin Friday

Godwin Friday, born on September twenty-eighth, nineteen fifty-nine, is a prominent Vincentian politician who has made significant contributions to the political landscape of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. He has been serving as the Prime Minister since two thousand twenty-five, following a remarkable victory in the general elections that year.

Friday has been a dedicated member of the New Democratic Party (NDP) since two thousand sixteen, leading the party through various challenges and successes. His political career began in two thousand one when he was first elected as the Member of Parliament for the Northern Grenadines constituency, a position he has successfully retained in subsequent elections held in two thousand five, two thousand ten, two thousand fifteen, two thousand twenty, and most recently, two thousand twenty-five.

During his tenure, Friday also served as the leader of the opposition from two thousand sixteen until he ascended to the role of Prime Minister in two thousand twenty-five. His leadership was pivotal in the NDP's triumph over Ralph Gonsalves' long-standing Unity Labour Party, resulting in the formation of a supermajority government.
