This partnership proved fruitful, leading them to clinch the gold medal in the men's doubles at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

In addition to their Commonwealth success, Goh and Tan showcased their prowess by winning all their matches in the mixed team event, which played a crucial role in helping Malaysia retain the gold medal for the third consecutive time. Their achievements continued to shine as they secured a bronze medal at the 2014 Asian Games and a silver medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics, marking them as the second Malaysian men's doubles pair to achieve Olympic silver, a feat last accomplished by Cheah Soon Kit and Yap Kim Hock in nineteen ninety-six.
