Gordon Monahan, born in 1956, is a distinguished Canadian sound artist, pianist, and composer known for his innovative contributions to experimental music. His artistic journey began in 1978, and since then, he has carved a niche for himself in the realms of performance and installation art.
Throughout his career, Monahan has not only showcased his own compositions but has also interpreted works by renowned composers such as John Cage, James Tenney, Udo Kasemets, and Roberto Paci Dalò. His performances are characterized by a deep exploration of sound, pushing the boundaries of traditional music.
In addition to his performance work, Monahan has created site-specific sound installations that engage audiences in unique auditory experiences.
