Grand Duchess Maria Vladimirovna of Russia, born on December twenty-third, nineteen fifty-three, is a prominent figure in the history of the Russian Imperial Family. As a great-great-granddaughter of Emperor Alexander II, she has been a claimant to the headship of the House of Romanov since nineteen ninety-two, following the death of her father.

Throughout her life, she has adopted the title of Grand Duchess of Russia and has been styled as Imperial Highness. However, her right to these titles has been a subject of dispute among historians and royalists alike. Despite this, she remains a significant figure for many monarchist supporters.

Some of her supporters have referred to her as Maria I, titular 'Empress of Russia', a title she does not actively claim. Her role as a benefactor has allowed her to engage with various charitable endeavors, further solidifying her presence in contemporary society.
