Grand Duchess Xenia Alexandrovna of Russia, born on March twenty-fifth, eighteen seventy-five, was the elder daughter and fourth child of Emperor Alexander III and Dagmar of Denmark. As the sister of Nicholas II, the last emperor of Russia, her life was intricately woven into the fabric of Russian royalty.

In a union that reflected the close ties of the imperial family, she married her father's cousin, Grand Duke Alexander Mikhailovich. Together, they had seven children, further intertwining the fates of the Russian aristocracy. Xenia's family connections extended beyond her immediate lineage; she was the mother-in-law of Felix Yusupov and a cousin to Grand Duke Dmitri Pavlovich, both of whom played a notorious role in the assassination of Grigori Rasputin, the controversial healer to her nephew, the hemophiliac Tsarevich Alexei Nikolaevich.
