Gregory Helms

Gregory Helms, born on July twelfth, nineteen seventy-four, is a prominent figure in the world of professional wrestling. Known for his dynamic persona, he has made significant contributions to WWE, where he currently holds a legends contract and works as a producer. Throughout his career, Helms has captivated audiences under various guises, including The Hurricane and Gregory Helms, and is also recognized for his time in World Championship Wrestling (WCW) as 'Sugar' Shane Helms.

Helms embarked on his wrestling journey at the young age of seventeen in nineteen ninety-one, competing in numerous independent promotions. His talent quickly shone through as he captured multiple light heavyweight and tag team championships. In nineteen ninety-nine, he signed with WCW, where he gained fame as a member of the popular group 3 Count, winning both the WCW Hardcore Championship and the WCW Cruiserweight Championship.

When WCW was acquired by WWF, now known as WWE, Helms transitioned seamlessly, adopting the superhero persona of The Hurricane. This character brought him further success, including a reign as the WWE Cruiserweight Champion and a memorable partnership with his sidekick, Rosey, with whom he won the World Tag Team Championship.

In two thousand five, Helms shifted away from the superhero gimmick, wrestling under his real name. He reclaimed the Cruiserweight Championship in early two thousand six, setting records as the longest reigning Cruiserweight Champion and the longest reigning champion in SmackDown history. After a hiatus due to neck fusion surgery, he made a comeback in September two thousand eight, initially as Hurricane Helms before reverting to Gregory Helms as a backstage interviewer on the ECW brand.

In mid-two thousand nine, Helms revived The Hurricane character, showcasing his versatility by appearing as both Gregory Helms and The Hurricane. Although he was released by WWE in February two thousand ten, he made surprise returns as an entrant in the Royal Rumble matches in two thousand eighteen and two thousand twenty-one, reminding fans of his enduring legacy in the wrestling world.
