Gregory Meeks

Gregory Meeks, born on September twenty-fifth, nineteen fifty-three, is a prominent American lawyer and politician who has represented New York in the U.S. House of Representatives since nineteen ninety-eight. A dedicated member of the Democratic Party, he has held significant leadership roles, including chairing the House Committee on Foreign Affairs from twenty twenty-one to twenty twenty-three. Currently, he serves as the ranking member of this influential committee.

In addition to his congressional duties, Meeks is the chair of the Queens County Democratic Party, showcasing his commitment to local governance and community engagement. With the anticipated retirements of Jerry Nadler and Nydia Velázquez in twenty twenty-six, he is set to become the dean of New York’s House delegation, a testament to his long-standing service and leadership.
