Grete Mostny

Grete Mostny, born on September seventeenth, nineteen fourteen, was a prominent figure in the fields of anthropology, archaeology, ethnology, prehistory, and museology. Originally from Austria, she faced the harrowing challenges posed by the rise of the Nazis, which compelled her to leave her homeland in search of safety and opportunity.

After relocating to Belgium, Grete completed her studies before embarking on a new chapter in Chile. Her journey was marked by resilience and determination, as she chose to embrace her new life in South America rather than return to Austria after the war. Grete became a naturalized Chilean, contributing significantly to the cultural and scientific landscape of her adopted country.

Throughout her career, Grete Mostny led numerous archaeological investigations, showcasing her expertise and passion for uncovering the past.
