Griffin Dunne, born on June eighth, nineteen fifty-five, is a multifaceted American actor, director, and producer. He is the eldest son of journalist Dominick Dunne and activist Ellen Beatriz. Dunne honed his craft at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre, which laid the foundation for his illustrious career in film and television.

Making his film debut in The Other Side of the Mountain in nineteen seventy-five, Dunne quickly gained recognition for his compelling performances. He is perhaps best known for his roles as Jack Goodman in the cult classic An American Werewolf in London, directed by John Landis, and as Paul Hackett in Martin Scorsese's black comedy After Hours, for which he received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy. His impressive filmography also includes notable supporting roles in My Girl, Straight Talk, Quiz Show, Dallas Buyers Club, The French Dispatch, and the upcoming Caught Stealing.

As a filmmaker, Dunne made his directorial debut with the short film Duke of Groove in nineteen ninety-five, which earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Live Action Short Film. He transitioned to feature-length films with Addicted to Love in nineteen ninety-seven, followed by Practical Magic in nineteen ninety-eight and The Accidental Husband in two thousand eight.
