Guillermo Varela, born on March twenty-four, nineteen ninety-three, is a talented Uruguayan professional footballer who currently plays as a right-back for Flamengo in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A and represents the Uruguay national team.
Varela's football journey began in his hometown of Montevideo with Peñarol, where he showcased his skills before making a significant move to Manchester United in two thousand thirteen. During his time at United, he made eleven first-team appearances and gained valuable experience through loan spells at Real Madrid Castilla and Eintracht Frankfurt.
After returning to Peñarol in two thousand seventeen, Varela helped the club secure two Uruguayan Primera División titles. His European adventure continued in January two thousand nineteen when he signed with Danish club Copenhagen, where he made fifty-three appearances and contributed to their triumph in the two thousand eighteen–nineteen Danish Superliga.
In October two thousand twenty, Varela joined Dynamo Moscow on loan, a deal that became permanent in July two thousand twenty-one. He returned to South America in July two thousand twenty-two, joining Flamengo on loan, and solidified his position with a permanent transfer in July two thousand twenty-three.
On the international stage, Varela was part of Uruguay's under-20 team that finished as runners-up in the two thousand thirteen FIFA U-20 World Cup.
