Güler Duman, born on June 30, 1967, is a celebrated Turkish singer, songwriter, composer, TV host, and music teacher, renowned for her contributions to Turkish folk music. Hailing from Erzurum, she began her musical journey at a young age, participating in a choir established by Ruhi Su while still in primary school. Her talent was recognized early on, leading to her notable performance in the film 'A Season in Hakkari' in 1982, directed by Erden Kıral.

At just twelve years old, Güler released her first album, 'Dost Garip,' in 1980, which achieved remarkable success, selling over one million eight hundred thousand copies. Her passion for music led her to pursue formal education at the Istanbul Technical University Turkish Music State Conservatory, where she graduated in 1992. Her thesis, which explored the shared pseudonym of eight poets known as Pir Sultan Abdal, was later published as a book in 2004.

In 2008, Güler was honored as a cultural ambassador by the German Ministry of Culture, allowing her to share her expertise in Turkish folk music and rhythms across the globe, particularly in Germany. With a discography that includes albums such as 'O Leyli Leyli' (1982), 'Nazlı Yara Küskünüm' (1987), and 'Yüreğimden Yüreğinize' (2012), Güler Duman has sold close to ten million albums in Turkey and Europe. Her ability to write her own lyrics and compose original music has solidified her status as one of the leading female artists in Turkish folk music.
