Gustavo Alfaro

Gustavo Alfaro, born on August fourteenth, nineteen sixty-two, is a distinguished Argentine football manager and former player, currently at the helm of the Paraguay national football team. His journey in football began as a player, where he notably captained Atlético de Rafaela during their promotion to the Argentine Primera División in nineteen eighty-nine.

After retiring from professional play in nineteen ninety-two, Alfaro shifted his focus entirely to coaching. His managerial career took off with Arsenal de Sarandí, where he celebrated his first league title in the 2012 Clausura, marking a significant milestone in his coaching journey.

On the international stage, Alfaro had the honor of coaching Ecuador during the 2022 FIFA World Cup, showcasing his tactical acumen and leadership. Following this, he took charge of Costa Rica before being appointed as the coach of Paraguay in 2024, where he successfully led the team to qualification for the 2026 World Cup.
