Gustaw Holoubek

Gustaw Holoubek, born on April twenty-first, nineteen twenty-three, was a multifaceted Polish talent known for his work as an actor, director, and educator. His career in the performing arts began in nineteen forty-seven, marking the start of a remarkable journey in theatre and film that spanned decades, both in Poland and internationally.

Beyond his artistic endeavors, Holoubek was also deeply involved in politics. His political career commenced in nineteen seventy-six when he was elected to the Sejm, the lower house of the Polish Parliament. He was re-elected in nineteen eighty but chose to resign in nineteen eighty-one following the imposition of martial law. In nineteen eighty-nine, he transitioned to the Senate, the upper house, while simultaneously taking on the role of a professor at the Academy of Theatre in Warsaw.

Holoubek's life was marked by significant historical events, including his participation in the September Campaign and his subsequent imprisonment during the Nazi German Occupation of Poland.
