Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of György Dózsa

György Dózsa, born in 1470, was a notable Székely man-at-arms hailing from Transylvania, within the Kingdom of Hungary. He emerged as a prominent military leader during a tumultuous period marked by social strife and discontent among the peasantry.

During the reign of King Vladislaus II of Hungary, Dózsa led a significant peasants' revolt aimed at challenging the oppressive rule of the kingdom's landed nobility. His leadership inspired many, as he rallied the common folk to rise against their oppressors in a quest for justice and equality.

Unfortunately, the rebellion was ultimately suppressed, leading to Dózsa's capture. His fate was a grim one; he was subjected to torture and executed in a manner that has become legendary. According to accounts, he was seated on a throne that was said to be smouldering, crowned with red-hot iron, and met a horrific end as he was devoured alive by his followers under duress before being quartered.
