Hafsat Abiola

Hafsat Abiola, born on August twenty-first, nineteen seventy-four, is a prominent Nigerian human rights defender and civil rights activist. With a deep commitment to democracy, she has dedicated her life to advocating for the rights of individuals and the empowerment of marginalized communities in Nigeria.

As the founder of the Kudirat Initiative for Democracy (KIND), Hafsat has played a pivotal role in strengthening civil society and promoting democratic values across the nation. Her efforts through KIND have been instrumental in fostering a culture of accountability and civic engagement among Nigerians.

In addition to her work with KIND, Hafsat serves as the President of the Women in Africa Initiative (WIA), an international platform aimed at supporting the economic development of African women entrepreneurs. Her leadership in WIA highlights her commitment to uplifting women and creating opportunities for their success.

Furthermore, Hafsat is one of the founders of Connected Women Leaders (CWL), an organization that connects and empowers women leaders across various sectors. Through her initiatives, she continues to inspire and mobilize women to take on leadership roles and drive change in their communities.
