Hamida Banu Begum

Hamida Banu Begum, born in the year fifteen twenty-seven, was a prominent figure in the Mughal Empire as the empress consort of the second Mughal emperor, Humayun. Her life was marked by her significant role in the royal lineage, being the mother of Akbar, who would ascend to the throne as the third Mughal emperor.

Throughout her life, Hamida Banu Begum was honored with the title of Mariam Makani, which translates to 'Dwelling with Mariam.' This title was conferred upon her by her son, Akbar, reflecting her esteemed position within the royal family and the affection he held for her.

In addition to her maternal role, she was also known as Padshah Begum during Akbar's reign, further solidifying her status and influence in the Mughal court. Her legacy continues to be remembered as a vital part of the Mughal dynasty's history.
